Botanic

Went out to AAB this morning. I'm not gonna lie. . . I pushed the snooze nearly a hundred times this morning! I was so not ready to wake up! Probably due to the fact that I stayed up until 1:30am watching the opening ceremonies AND THEN decided to watch the rest of Despicable Me (about an hour). What was I thinking?? Well to be honest I was so very pleased with the ceremonies I was just in too good of a mood to sleep! It was AMAZING! Good job London! So creative and dripping in the arts. From the beginning, to the Queen in a short clip with "James Bond", to the music, to Mr Bean's appearance, to the dancing, and finally closing it out with a spectacular finish! I loved the concept of having the legends pass the torch on to "the future" up and coming athletes. And the cauldron lighting was one of the best I've ever seen!

So yes, AAB. . . that's where I was at right? LOL! Anyways - it was good. Got to see alot of our families :) After, Rique and I went into Belfast. We had a meeting with Cecil at Botanic at 4:30 but got into town early so we passed the time by watching some of the Olympics in Starbucks (on my laptop). We watched a bit of Judo and Boxing for him and then Swimming and Gymnastics for me. Before heading to Botanic we stopped by City Hall to meet up with some of the teens there.

We made it within 5 mins from Botanic when the rain hit. And boy did it hit! I was a little worried that Cecil wouldn't get to see the same effect that we had the past two weeks. Not sure if the rain would send the teens elsewhere. It didn't

When we met up with Cecil we took him over to the area which usually hosts the most teenagers. As usual they were just chilling, drinking, smoking, etc... It was really eye-opening for Cecil and it gave Rique and I the much needed opportunity to really share with him our heart for the teens. And our desire and urgency to get a drop-in centre. It also was amazing cause some of the kids came and talked with him - telling him how they are desperate for something to do.

Leaving the rest up to God now. But I am more determined than ever to get this centre up and running! And I believe Cecil is now too.
