I needed to grab a few things in town so we took the bus a bit early to get there before Street Reach. I had a skype date scheduled with a friend from back home in LA so we headed into S'bux first. They've been promoting this amazing deal lately too - 1/2 price frappuccinos from 3-5pm! So good catching up with Alyssa - one of my dearest friends who is full of life and encouragement! Blessed being her friend!
Tonight was Jaclyn's last Street reach. The kids have grown quite attached to her - I wasn't sure how they were gonna handle it. Some took it pretty hard. it's amazing how someone can change so many lives in such a short time! One of the guys, Martin, baked her a carrot cake! It actually was delicious!
We had a team from Jacksonville with us too. Because it was so nice out the town was buzzing and City Hall was covered with people spread out over the lawn sunbathing. Haha nearly all the guys had their shirts off and all the girls were in wee tanks and shorts. Some people were white others red. . . very few tan. I hadn't seen the town this busy since Christmas.
I must say - this is my favorite place to be. I love Belfast so much! But it's these kids that have stolen my heart! I could be out here every night! Really working towards this drop-in centre! I have a meeting in the near future with the city centre manager - please be praying for favor!
Went to Tescos for the last time with Jacs. So sad. . . 6 days in counting :(
