Miss yall! Been a busy couple of days over here. Sorry. . . I know my writing is becoming less and less these days. It's harder to get online at Sue's but I'll try my best to write everyday from here on out.
Hmmmmmmmmm backtracking. . .
I had Thursday off until about half 5 (when I had youth) so Sue took me around the town of newtownabbey for the morning. We ended up getting coffee at the Belfast Castle later that afternoon. Such a fun place! Some of it was roped off due to a wedding on the grounds but we did have fun in the garden trying to spot the "9 cats"
THE LEGEND: According to legend, Belfast Castle is safe as long as there is a (preferably white) cat residing there. This myth led to the creation of the "Cat Garden" right next to the stately pile on the slopes of Cave Hill. Which boasts no less than nine cats for visitors to discover. All clearly visible, but some hidden in plain sight. Some are statues, some are part of the landscape and others can be found sleeping near the water fountain or preening themselves in the foliage.
That night we had Junior Youth (ages 5-10) which I'll now be heading up until someone else steps in to run it. Really been getting some good direction from the Lord on where to take this and I'm extremely excited for where it is going! We also had the High School Youth that night but had no service because we had a concert going on at the same time to raise money for Kenya missions. A group called Simple Faith. Amazing group made up of 5 male singers. They'll be back at the church on the 11th of September to do a free concert to help raise money for the Dream Centre!
Yesterday I was in the office most of the day. Worked on Dream Centre stuff and the Junior Youth lesson planning. I also recorded something for a video on the Dream Centre that we'll be showing during the fundraising concert next week and also I helped set up the baptismal for tomorrow evenings baptism service. Ha! My job was to turn the water off once it got to a certain point....totally forgot and it ended up being a little on the "more" side! I got lucky it didnt overflow onto the stage!
Last night I came back up to the church after having dinner with Sue (Side Note: Zuchinni here is called courgette - weird). I helped the worship team organize and copy music til after 11pm.
Today we had Adopt-a-Block! Another AMAZING and inspiring day at our site! We had a volunteers come for Celebration Church in Belfast (a satellite church based out of Pastor Stovall's church in Jacksonville FL). They also had a team come with them of about 10 from the church in Jacksonville so I got to spend the day with Americans! I was truly blessed by them. Ah the Lord must've known how badly I needed that. Perfect timing! We also had 7 volunteers from JCC come (5 youth). Picked up a ton of litter on our walk down to Glenville. About 4 trash bags full! Then spent the next hour and a half picking up litter at the site, mowing a garden for a woman in the hospital, knocking on doors and passing out about 50 flyers, and meeting a ton of people! Met one woman who was excited about us coming out and asked us if we'd help her paint her kitchen next week and work in her garden. We also saw several people from last week who were excited to "see our friendly faces again". I cant get over the positive response we got once again! Thanks for everyone who prayed - please continue to do so!
ADOPT-A-BLOCK:

After Adopt-A-Block I went to coffee at the Cozy Chair (down the road) with the group from Celebration Church. Such a wonderful time of fellowship.
Now I have the rest of the day off to spend with Sue. I think she said she was making lasagna and some kind of chocolate cake! (I really need to find a scale and weigh myself. . .very curious as to how much weight I've put on)
Hope you are all doing well.
Tomorrow we have a full day at church since we've started our Sunday evening service again (they had stopped for the summer) Excited to see what all the Lord has in store!
Blessings to yall!
-J
