What a day today has been. Worked all day - Fridays are usually my day to tidy up my office after the mess youth night makes it. It's also when I tidy up the church for a Sunday morning and also when I get things ready for the start of next week. (Whatever I can get started to make sure Tuesday isn't such a crazy day.)
I was blessed with lunch from one of the ladies in the church. I must say - God has really been looking out for me in this area! Constantly being blessed with free food! He knows what makes me happy :)
I had a skype date with my lil sisters Ray and Bek this afternoon (Another thing that makes me happy) It was good seeing them! So thankful that I live in the year of technology :)
Caught up on the USA X-factor before getting ready for Street Reach. It started pouring down rain today around 3pm and it didn't really let up until about 9pm. Well no - its almost midnight and its still raining pretty hard. No thunder...just rain. I keep thinking I hear thunder - but then I must remind myself that I live in N. Ireland. Goodbye lightning. Goodbye thunder.
Because of the rain I honestly thought sitting on my bed while watching movies all night seemed so much better than going out on Street Reach. But with the way my past week has been and the way last night went I knew (and the rain confirmed it) that something good was gonna happen tonight and I needed to be there.
I am ever so glad I went!!! When we first arrived and yes it was raining I tried to keep a positive mindset. After setting up and noticing that not even one teenager was out - it got a little harder not to mentally give up on the night. I met a couple girls waiting for the bus. I had my wee umbrella with me which was good cause I got to talk to them while we all shared the umbrella :) Had a nice chat. Got to bless several people with hot chocolate and hotdogs. Quite a lot actually which was good and then my girl Gemma showed up!! Met her several weeks ago but usually I'm surrounded by so many people we don't get a chance to visit. Love this girl to bits!! We talked probably for an hour (under the umbrella). Felt bad cause she missed her bus - twice! But I got to know her really well and cant wait until next week when I see her again! She made the night (rain and all) worth while :)
Been just chilling since coming back to the DC. Right now I'm in my "room" listening to the rain hit the ceiling. It's sounding exceptionally loud, almost like somehow its being amplified...wondering how the heck I'm gonna fall asleep with that noise. Hmmm but I'll manage :)
Wishing for some sunshine and warm shorts-wearing weather!
Got a full day planned for tomorrow! But a fun one! Adopt-a-Block in the morning and then heading to Lynsey's to hangout. Possibly going to the Cinema with friends tomorrow night. Should be a perfect day minus the rain :)
