Dream Centre Night...

Still on a high from everything that happened last night.

Today was really good too! Adopt-A-Block was amazing today! (actually it has gone really well the past three weeks especially!) I got to visit with everyone except for Mr McCrae (who was just going for a nap when we called on him). Jacs and I decided to visit him on Monday.

I had a really good chat with Vera again today and her daughter Joann who was at the house. They are such sweet women! I also got to see Izzy and Nuala and loads of other regulars. We also went to see the wee lad I mentioned in "A Divine Encounter". The sun was out and shining bright - made the day that much more lovely <3

As hard as it is sometimes to wake up on a Saturday I ALWAYS feel so much better and at peace after a day of serving others than I ever would if I slept in.

Tonight we had our Dream Centre Evening. The whole night went off without a glitch praise the Lord but unfortunately very few showed up for it. I prayed and gave it to God. Not much I can do about it now but it was a little disappointing. Emma (who goes out with us to AAB) came and brought her friend and her Gran. All three thoroughly enjoyed themselves and Ems said it was the confirmation she needed to know beyond a doubt that the Lord has called her to DCB. She is now planning on coming out to Street Reach next week! What an encouragement! Looking at the positive - if this night was designed specifically for her. . . then mission accomplished :)

Some crazy statistics for you (keep in mind that Northern Ireland is a little smaller than Connecticut and has approx 1,780,000 less in population):

“Nearly one girl in each class from the age of 15 and up will have a baby during the school year”

“Northern Ireland has the fastest growing sex industry in the UK.”

“£500,000 is spent on prostitution in Northern Ireland every week.”

“In Northern Ireland 284 people died last year (2011) as a direct result of alcohol misuse”

“On average, one case of domestic abuse is reported every 21 minutes”

“100,000 children in Northern Ireland are living in poverty. 44,000 of these cases are severe poverty.”

As sad as these are to hear, I know God is in control and BIG THINGS are in the works for this country! Please continue to cover us in prayer as we face constant struggles and challenges!

Love you all!
