One Fine Day...

So I really messed myself up last night by not going to sleep an hour early. . . in fact I actually went to bed an hour late, therefore, thanks to the British Summer Time change, it became 2 hours late! So waking up this morning in time for worship practice proved to be a difficult feat! Ha then during practice I remembered I was working in the creche! Hadn't anything planned but thanks to Junior Youth I was able to pull out an old lesson. Only Ben and Joshua were in the nursery. Allison watched the baby making it easy for me to teach Ben about David and Goliath. What fun we had! Singing "One Little Boy Named David" and acting out the story. We also played pin the rock on Goliath (my Biblical version of pin the tale on the donkey), and we went hunting outside for smooth stones. We literally had a blast. Plus we played with the electronic game, BopIt - haha watching him try and figure out the timed pattern was class. He is just too cute!

After church, Pastor Cecil and Evelyn took Jacs and I out to lunch at a little marina restaurant in Carrickfergus. Thanks to my European chef shows I was in heaven reading the menus and watching the most beautiful culinary dishes being placed before me! My "Tempura of Monkfish and Crab Cake on Noodles with Soy" was delicious! Possibly just topping my main course of "Roast Beef and Potatoes in a Red Wine Ju". However nothing came close to the dessert of iced creams. . . the softest ice cream you ever tasted! (I thought of my twin sisters during the whole meal as their dream is to become Master Chefs)

When we got back towards Lough Shore I noticed thousands of people of every age gathered at the parks nearby. It's amazing what happens to the village when the sun comes out! Jacs opted for a nap as it's been a busy weekend. I was tempted to do the same but knew as soon as my head hit the pillow I'd be out til morning ha and I still have another church service tonight! So I decided to go for a walk instead and I'm so glad I did! First time I've worn sandals since being here (normally I wear boots or heels) and I noticed two things.
1. I desperately need a pedicure.    2. I'm alot shorter than I thought I was.

The park was buzzing! I have never seen anything like it out here to date! It reminded me of every park scene in 90's films. Families, couples, children, teens, strollers, sports, a beach, a field, a playground, dogs - dogs - and more dogs!

SIDE NOTE: I saw dozens of Sheep Dogs, Akita Inus, Komonodors, Terriers, Irish Setters, and Mastiffs. . . I didn't see one Lab or Retriever. Strange.

I heard my name being called at one point and noticed Nuala (from AAB) waving in the distance. I spent the next hour visiting with her and helping keep an eye on her precious daughter. . .

Church tonight was incredible. Pastor Brian Madden spoke his testimony. It brought me confirmation after confirmation! It was also extremely encouraging in relation to working with the teens. I am going to bring a copy of the sermon with me when I go home next month. Let me know if you want one!

Well yes, today was such a wonderful day but I am needing my rest. Jaclyn and I are planning on walking to the zoo tomorrow! Only 3.5 miles but its a pretty steady incline so sleep will prove vital!

Sweet Dreams!
